General Labourer

The labourer assists with all on-site duties required for company projects as well as assists in the company yard when required. This position reports to the project Foreman and/or Supervisor while on site.

Responsibilities
• Able to work independently as well as take direction from supervisors/foremen.
• Follow and complete company safety practices, paperwork, and procedures.
• Perform other duties as required, including effective clean-up and the accurate and timely completion of paperwork.
• Work as a team to complete tasks safely/efficiently to ensure targets are met.
• Run equipment such as: trench packer, plate tamper, jumping jack, rock truck, GPS stick on different ground conditions as needed.
• Proactively identify, address, and resolve problems as/or before they occur.
• Utilize power and manual tools to complete tasks efficiently and to quality specifications.
Skills and Abilities
• Commitment to working safely, within standard policies and procedures.
• Ability to meet physical requirements including lifting and over 35 lbs, bending, crouching, kneeling, and standing for extended periods of time.
• Positive attitude and team player.
• Punctual, reliable, and willing to work flexible hours including overtime and weekends.
• Holds oneself accountable for all project related activities.
• Work closely with team members and decision makers to identify safety hazards, safe procedures, and safe work practices.
• Maintains the highest standards of professional ethics and integrity.

Qualifications & Experience

• Valid Class 5 License, clean drivers abstract.
• Underground civil experience an asset.
• ‘Hands-on’ experience in a general labourer or labour-intensive role.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills (written and verbal)
