Qualifications: • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in civil, earthworks, and underground utilities.
• Degree/Diploma in civil engineering/civil engineering technology.
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License.


Project Coordinator/Estimator

The Project Coordinator/Estimator will assist in planning, organization, and quality control of the project with support, supervision, and mentorship to the team. This position reports to the company Directors as well as the Project Manager and will work directly with the Project Manager and Superintendent’s.

•Provide preconstruction services including the development and management of preliminary budgets, cost plans, value engineering exercises and productivity analysis for bid preparation.
•Oversee the tendering and communicate award of sub-trade contracts.
•Process change orders; obtain quotes, assess costs and impacts to project schedule.
•Maintain and distribute site records; post records to company document management system and assemble documents to support claims.
•Administer requests for information; liaise with project team, client, and subcontractors, and attend site/project meetings as required.
•Work closely with the project manager, owner, consultants, suppliers, and trades to identify, develop, implement and support cost-effective project delivery.
•Coordinate inspections and acquire permits.
•Coordinate selection and purchase of materials and services for the project; liaise with suppliers.
•Develop and execute a project strategy that meets the project’s required performance, schedule, and profitability targets.
•Oversee accurate completion of all site paperwork including time sheets, dailies, invoices, and work records for accurate cost coding to applicable contract items.
•Support and confirm performance of the health & safety and environmental requirements of the work are being met.
•Prepare take-offs/calculate materials quantities and input design/cost data to estimating software.
•Assist with gathering technical/historical data for estimating and preparation of cost estimates on tenders for civil infrastructure projects.
•Assist with project completion close-outs.
•Work with all site personnel to identify, address, and resolve issues and problems as or before they occur.
•Develop and maintain positive relationships with client, consultants, suppliers, and trades.
•Ensure that constructability is addressed before sub-trade tendering.
•Contribute current cost and productivity information to the company database.
•Maintain the highest standards of professional ethics and integrity when representing A.C.L. Construction.

•Understanding of civil engineering and construction process
•High degree of technical accuracy in numerical calculations
•Proficient use of computerized systems and project estimating tools
•High level of software and system(s) use.
•Proficiency in Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, Adobe, and MS Office.
